Organization Summary

Since 1987, the Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) has worked to help youth realize their potential while serving the Gateway Cities area. As a state-certified Corps, CCLB is positioned to offer its Corpsmembers access to a variety of environmental work experiences while also facilitating personal development opportunities. More than 12,000 youth and young adults have benefitted from our unique program, and over 1,500 have received a high school diploma while working with us. We continue to serve local youth as we work towards achieving our vision of a world where all youth and young adults thrive, are resilient, have equitable access to opportunity, and are stewards of our community and the environment.

Mission The primary mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is to support young people in realizing their potential through work, service, conservation, and education.

Position Description

Works with 80-90 Corps participants and will work as needed to make sure they are complying with the expectation in the corpsmember contract.
Follow up individual Work Experiences plans with participants that are reviewed and updated monthly and tracks progress in meeting corpsmembers personal, occupational, and educational goals through the Work Program Evaluation
Update & Track Corpsmember Management report and conducts appropriate follow with respective Crew Supervisor, Coordinator, Manager and or Director.
Collaborate with Recruitment and Intake Staff to help facilitate the Work Program Orientation
Collaborates with Case & Transition Program Manager to refer corpsmember for services

Training

Monitor Work Program Corpsmember training
Coordinate, Assistant Crew Leader & Crew Leader Leadership Training

Reporting

Fosters a motivational and supportive environment for corpsmembers.
Coordinates program elements with other Corps staff to achieve program goals and outcomes.
Tracks and complies with all due dates, paperwork and other assigned contract requirements.
Collaborates with Case & Transition staff to provide information pertinent to follow-up services.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

Demonstrates excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written); characterized by actively listening and ensuring respectful two-way communication.
Demonstrate sensitivity, understanding, and the ability to effectively interact with individuals (internal and external) from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, disability and ethnic backgrounds.

Ability to effectively provide presentations, work demonstrations, and instruction to others to promote and establish of culture of safety.

Education/Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in working with young adults, preferably with at-risk young people and/or community organizations/groups required.

Previous experience working in the non-profit or public sector preferred.

Salary and Benefits:

$55,932.24 to $71,591.94 to start (Rank 18) based on level of experience and education. Open to considering compensation for more experienced applicants.
